ANSI wet-end replacement parts

Find a replacement casing or cover that matches your pump.

For Goulds 3196 and Durco Mark III pattern pumps, start with the nameplate, pump size and OEM part number. Check material and cover configuration before you request a quote.

Part names matter: “cover” can mean a Goulds seal chamber/stuffing-box cover or a Durco rear cover plate. Send a section view or OEM item number when the term is unclear.

Exact model and part-number lookup

Search the existing parts index

The site’s OEM cross-reference already contains the casing and cover numbers for Goulds 3196 and Durco Mark III, with filters by series, part type, pump size, frame/group and OEM or replacement reference. Keep the live index as the single source for exact part numbers.

Find the row for your installed pump

Open the index, choose Goulds 3196 or Durco Mark III, then filter to Casing or Cover. Search by the nameplate size or the number stamped on the old part.

Use Search OEM Numbers to run the lookup and Clear Search to reset it. Select matching parts there to include them in one quote request.

Metallurgy follows the service

Specify the alloy, then verify the grade.

Corrosion-resistant alloy names can cover different casting grades and specifications. We review the specified material, fluid chemistry and temperature against the part and project requirements.

Fitment review

What confirms the replacement?

ANSI/ASME B73.1 covers pump-level dimensional requirements. It does not by itself establish that any two individual casings or covers interchange. Confirm the exact model and part interfaces.

Review ASME B73.1 scope →
01Pump identity: manufacturer/model, frame or group, size, serial and nameplate photo.
02Part identity: casing or exact cover type, OEM POS/item number and casting mark.
03Interfaces: suction/discharge flanges, joint register, bolt pattern, seal chamber/bore, drain and tapping locations as applicable.
04Material: alloy designation, casting standard, service fluid, concentration and temperature.
05Evidence: drawing/section view, removed-part photos, requested MTR/PMI and inspection records.

Send the details you have. We’ll flag what still needs confirmation.

A part number helps, but it is not required to start a review. Include the pump nameplate and clear photos of both the part and its mating face if available.

Common fitment questions

Casings & Covers FAQ

Can you replace a casing by pump model alone?

The model narrows the search, but the frame/group, pump size, serial/build, material and connection details may change the required part. Send a nameplate image or OEM reference so fitment can be reviewed.

Does ANSI B73.1 mean every casing or cover is interchangeable?

No. B73.1 specifies dimensional requirements for horizontal end-suction process pumps at the pump level. Individual part fit still depends on the manufacturer pattern, size, frame/group, design details and material. See the ASME standard scope.

What does “cover” mean on my pump?

It depends on the pump family. On a Goulds 3196, the cover may refer to a seal chamber or stuffing-box cover. On a Durco Mark III, a common part is the rear cover plate. Share the POS/item number or a section drawing.

Can you reverse engineer a casing if I do not have a drawing?

Send the removed casing or cover, clear photos, pump nameplate, mating component and any available dimensions. Engineering will review whether the part can be identified and what measurements or material evidence are needed before quotation.

Can you quote Hastelloy C-276, titanium or zirconium?

Supported materials include Hastelloy C-276, Titanium Grade 2, titanium Pd7B and zirconium 702. Send the requested grade/specification and service conditions. Zircaloy is a different designation; ask us to review the exact grade before assuming it is covered by the zirconium 702 capability.
