Material Selection Support for Chemical Service
Material guidance is a starting point, not a final specification. Chemical concentration, temperature, pressure, solids, velocity, aeration, impurities, seal arrangement, and operating history can materially change the selection.
Available wet-end materials include WCB, CF8M / 316 stainless steel, CD4M / CD4MCu, CN7M / Alloy 20, Hastelloy, Nickel, CZ100, Titanium, and Zirconium, subject to pump configuration and engineering review.

Answers to common questions about pump selection, replacement identification, materials, and engineering documents.
What information is needed to select an ANSI process pump?
Provide the required flow, total dynamic head, fluid, concentration, operating temperature, suction conditions, solids content, preferred materials, and available motor or speed information. If some data is missing, send the duty point and service description first. Final pump, impeller, seal, and motor selection must be checked against the actual system conditions.
How do I request a performance curve for a specific pump size?
Send the pump model and size, operating speed, impeller diameter if known, and the required flow and head. A nameplate photo or existing curve is also useful. The general G196 curve set can be downloaded from this page, while a configuration-specific curve requires an engineering review of the requested duty point.
Can ANSI Pumps Pro cross-reference an OEM pump or part number?
Yes. Send the OEM brand, pump model, serial number, part number, POS code, or a clear nameplate and component photo. Cross-reference confirms the replacement identification only after dimensions, frame, material, seal arrangement, and other relevant interfaces have been reviewed. An OEM reference alone may not define the complete configuration.
What information is required for a chemical material review?
Provide the chemical name, concentration, normal and maximum temperature, pressure, pH when relevant, solids content, aeration, impurities, and current material history. Material guidance is preliminary until the service conditions and pump configuration are reviewed. No alloy should be treated as universally suitable for every concentration or operating condition.
Are GA drawings and material certificates available?
GA drawings can be provided for the selected pump configuration after the model, size, flange arrangement, motor, baseplate, and project requirements are confirmed. Available EN 10204 3.1 material test reports are tied to quoted or supplied components and their traceability records. Request these documents during quotation so the required documentation scope is clear.
Are Goulds 3196 and Durco Mark III parts interchangeable with each other?
Not as a general rule. Both pump families address ANSI B73.1 dimensional requirements, but internal hydraulic geometry, impeller adjustment, seal chambers, shafts, bearing frames, and part interfaces can differ. Cross-brand interchangeability must be assessed component by component. Use the dedicated interchangeability guide and submit the exact model, frame, and part reference for review.
Can I submit a nameplate photo instead of a complete pump datasheet?
Yes. A clear nameplate photo is a useful starting point when a full datasheet is unavailable. Include photos of the installed pump and the required component, plus any visible model, serial, frame, and material markings. The engineering team may request duty-point or dimensional information if the nameplate does not define the complete replacement scope.
